Can I use the Teal Wand if I have a vaginal infection?

No, if you have signs or symptoms of a vaginal infection (e.g., yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or sexually transmitted infections), please treat or seek medical attention for those symptoms before collecting your sample with the Teal Wand. Symptoms include abnormal or increased vaginal discharge, odor, itching, irritation, burning, or pain during urination or sex.

You should wait until the infection has cleared and/or you have finished treatment before using the Wand. If you were treated with Metronidazole Gel, please wait 1 week prior to collection, as the gel can interfere with the test.
