Do men need to be screened for HPV?

While men can be at risk for different types of cancer from high-risk HPV infections (including penile, anal, and throat cancers), currently there is no system in place to routinely test men for HPV aside from certain high risk groups. Men can, however, be vaccinated against HPV.

For those of us with cervixes, this is why routine cervical cancer screening is critical to ensure you stay healthy and keep an eye on any HPV infections (even an infection from many years ago can remain dormant in your body).
