How are HPV results reported?
Either HPV was detected in your sample (HPV positive) or it was not (HPV negative). Teal reports this as “normal” (HPV not detected) or “abnormal” (HPV detected). The results also specify what type of HPV was detected. Your sample is tested for fourteen types of high-risk HPV: 16, 18, and twelve others (reported together as ‘HPV Other’).
If you receive abnormal results, your Teal provider will help you understand the next best steps based on your screening history and the type of HPV that was detected.
