How do I collect a sample?
You will collect a sample from your vagina using the Teal Wand and then mail the sample to the lab for HPV testing. You will then receive your results in about one week.
Collecting your sample is easy and typically takes less than 5 minutes. The instructions on how to collect your vaginal sample and everything else you will need to complete the screening are included in your Teal screening box. You can also view the print and video instructions below.

Before you self-collect:
Read through all of the instructions and fill out the vial label. You will need to mail your sample with the USPS within 24 hours of collection.
Wait to collect your sample if you:
- Are pregnant
- Are on your period or bleeding
- Have a vaginal infection
- Have had vaginal intercourse or used vaginal products in the past 48 hours
Collect your sample once your period is done or your infection has cleared. If pregnant, consult with a provider for sampling options.
