Should I expect any bleeding, spotting, or other concerns after using the Teal Wand?

The Teal Wand has been extensively tested, and there have been no significant safety-related concerns. There is nothing you need to do differently after using the Teal Wand.

In some cases, there can be minor bleeding or spotting following use of the Wand, which should resolve. However, this is less common and less severe than bleeding or spotting one can have during a traditional Pap smear (with a speculum). There may be a little discomfort for some when using the Teal Wand. However, discomfort is reported less often than people report during a traditional clinic-based exam.

If you do see spotting or light bleeding after using the Teal Wand, it will typically stop within a day or two. However, if you have bleeding in between your periods or experience heavy bleeding (i.e., needing to change a pad every hour or more), please make an appointment with a provider for an in-person exam as soon as possible, as this could be a sign of other medical conditions.

If you need support making this in-person appointment, you can contact a Teal medical provider through your portal, and we can help find you a local provider.
