What happens if my insurance denies my claim?

At-home screening for cervical cancer is a brand-new service to the market, and we are still working through coverage and claim denials with insurance providers. If your claim was denied, you may receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your health insurance plan. The EOB may appear to show a balance that is due – this is not a bill (EOBs can be confusing).

The Teal team is working to resolve this issue with your insurance plan. In the meantime, you do not need to make a further payment to Teal Medical.

Cervical cancer screening is a GRADE A preventive service, as defined by the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). The Affordable Care Act requires that all public and private insurance cover any GRADE A preventive service with no cost-sharing. We are working with insurance companies to help get these claims paid.
