Your sample, which includes cells from your vagina, is mailed to a CLIA-certified laboratory\* where it is tested for high-risk HPV. Once the sample is processed and the results are posted for your review, the lab will dispose of your sample. *\*CLIA is the acronym for the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988.
