The Teal Wand is an FDA-authorized single-use, prescription-only\* vaginal at-home self-collection device for cervical cancer screening. It is a medical device that allows you to collect a vaginal sample from the comfort of your home, which you will then mail to a lab where it will be tested for high-risk HPV using an FDA-approved [primary HPV test](https://www.getteal.com/post/primary-hpv-test-vs-pap-smear?hsLang=en). Primary HPV tests are [the most sensitive screening tests](https://support.getteal.com/how-accurate-is-the-teal-screening?hsLang=en) for cervical cancer and are recommended by the [American Cancer Society](https://www.cancer.org/cancer/types/cervical-cancer/detection-diagnosis-staging/cervical-cancer-screening-guidelines.html) and the [United States Preventive Services Task Force](https://www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org/uspstf/recommendation/cervical-cancer-screening) (USPSTF). Using the Teal Wand is easy and takes most people fewer than 5 minutes. Once the lab receives your sample, results will be available in your Teal portal within a week, letting you know whether or not high-risk HPV was detected in your sample. The Teal Wand is only intended for use inside the vagina, to collect a vaginal sample for the purposes of HPV detection for cervical cancer screening. It does not test for anything other than HPV.
