The Teal Wand is an FDA-approved single-use, prescription-only* vaginal at-home self-collection device for cervical cancer screening. It is a medical device that allows you to collect a vaginal sample from the comfort of your home, which you will then mail to a lab where it will be tested for high-risk HPV using an FDA-approved primary HPV test. Primary HPV tests are the most sensitive screening tests for cervical cancer and are recommended by the American Cancer Society and the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF).
Using the Teal Wand is easy and takes most people fewer than 5 minutes. Through your Teal portal, you will also have access to our amazing team of qualified providers who are available via telehealth to support you with your screening and results.
The Teal Wand screening box includes everything you need to mail your sample to the lab. Once the lab receives your sample, results will be available in your Teal portal within a week, letting you know whether or not high-risk HPV was detected in your sample.
The Teal Wand is only intended for use inside the vagina, to collect a vaginal sample for the purposes of HPV detection for cervical cancer screening. It does not test for anything other than HPV.
