Do I need to store the Teal Wand or my sample in any special way?

The Teal Wand and sample should be stored indoors, at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. The Wand is sealed in protective packaging that keeps it clean and safe from contaminants. Do not open this packaging until you are ready to collect. You do not need to put the Wand or sample in the fridge, but please keep them away from high heat and direct sunlight.

Once you have collected your sample, follow the instructions to prepare it for mailing to the lab. You will need to drop the sample in the United States Postal Service (USPS) mail within 24 hours of collecting it. So, it is best to avoid collecting on days the USPS is closed, such as Sundays and holidays. You can drop it into a standard USPS outgoing mailbox (if it fits), bring it to the USPS post office, or schedule a USPS pickup for the day you plan to self-collect.
