How do I know if my results are correct?

The Teal Wand is FDA-approved and the test on which the sample is run finds HPV-related cervical precancer 96% of the time when it is present, which is as accurate as samples collected by a clinician using a speculum and brush.

Teal will not report ‘normal’ or ‘abnormal’ results for inadequate samples. Instead, you will receive an ‘invalid’ outcome for inadequate samples that could not be processed at the lab.

Please keep in mind that no cancer screen is 100% accurate, and in rare cases, cervical cancer can happen even if you do not have HPV. This is why it is important for you to stay up to date with your screenings and contact your Teal provider (or other healthcare provider) if anything changes.
