What if I can’t remove the sponge from the Wand?
Make sure you have pushed the dial up to the double lines (it clicks into place) so the sponge is fully extended out from the Wand tip. The lines are marked on the handle of the Wand, and you can also feel them with your fingers.
Spread the tips of the Wand apart with your fingers, so you can pinch the base of the sponge. You will touch the base of the sponge with your fingers to remove it – that is ok to do. The sponge comes out when you pinch at its base and tug away from the Wand. It’s ok to pull hard on the sponge.
You will need to remove the sponge from the Wand to mail it to the lab for testing. The sponge has a small plastic stick attached to it, which secures the sponge in the Wand while you collect your sample. The stick will come out with the sponge. You may have to pull harder than you think to remove the sponge (along with the stick securing it), but you can do it. For more support, view the instructional video.
